A solid, experienced attorney, but communication could be more consistent

I engaged Gray Geddie to represent our small manufacturing company in a wrongful termination dispute. His deep experience in employment law for management was immediately apparent; his knowledge of South Carolina labor regulations is extensive, and his background with a firm like Ogletree Deakins certainly lends weight. He successfully navigated the complexities of the case, referencing strategies honed over his 24-year career, and we achieved a settlement that protected the company. His recognition as a 'Lawyer of the Year' in labor and environmental litigation is clearly well-earned. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While his legal acumen is strong, practical client management felt lacking. There were periods where communication was sparse, and responses to non-urgent emails could take several days. At times, I felt like I had to follow up to get updates that should have been proactive. The billing was precise but felt rigid for the level of personal touch. For straightforward, high-stakes legal matters, Gray is a competent and knowledgeable choice. If you require an attorney who is equally strong on strategic counsel and consistent, accessible communication, you may find the experience merely adequate, as I did. He is an excellent lawyer, but the overall client service didn't fully match the expertise suggested by his impressive profile and awards.
