I engaged Kimberly Rathbone of the Rathbone Group to handle a commercial dispute involving a breach of contract with a vendor. Her 24 years of experience and her firm's focus on insurance subrogation and commercial litigation were evident from the start. She is clearly a knowledgeable professional, as her AV Preeminent rating and recognition in commercial litigation suggest. The legal strategy she developed was sound, and we achieved an acceptable settlement. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While the outcome was satisfactory, there were periods where communication was less than ideal. Responses to emails sometimes took several days, and updates on case developments felt reactive rather than proactive. For a straightforward matter, the process felt slower than I anticipated, and at times I had to follow up to get clarity on next steps. Ms. Rathbone is undoubtedly a skilled attorney with deep roots in the Cleveland legal community, and I would not question her legal acumen. For someone who needs a highly experienced hand and doesn't mind a more hands-off communication style, she could be a good fit. My expectations for client service and regular touchpoints, however, were only partially met.
