Competent and experienced, but communication could improve

I hired Kevin Walsh of Williams, Walsh & O'Connor to handle a complex business dispute involving a breach of contract with a former supplier. With his nearly four decades of experience and recognition in Commercial Litigation, I felt confident in his technical ability. His deep knowledge of Connecticut law and the procedural aspects of the case was evident throughout. He successfully navigated the pre-trial motions, and his familiarity with insurance-related litigation nuances, given his recognition in that area, was beneficial as our dispute had overlapping coverage issues. Ultimately, the matter was resolved favorably. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While the legal work was solid, communication was sometimes a challenge. Responses to emails could take several days, and updates often felt reactive rather than proactive. At times, it was difficult to get a clear sense of the timeline or next steps without initiating contact myself. For straightforward legal matters, his expertise is undeniable. For clients who prioritize constant communication and hand-holding, you may need to set very clear expectations upfront. He is a capable attorney who gets results, but the client experience aspect felt merely adequate.
