Competent for corporate leasing, but communication could improve

Kevin Ozubko from McLennan Ross handled the commercial lease negotiation for our Columbus-based retail expansion. His background in commercial leasing law was evident, and he was thorough in reviewing the landlord's complex financial covenants. The final agreement was solid, protecting our interests as intended. However, the process felt somewhat transactional. Response times were occasionally slower than expected, and explanations sometimes assumed a level of legal familiarity we didn't have, requiring us to seek clarification. While his recognized expertise in corporate and banking law is clear, and the outcome was professionally adequate, the client experience itself was just satisfactory. We achieved our legal goal, but the collaboration lacked the proactive communication we hoped for.
