Competent handling of my medical malpractice case

I hired Kenneth Miller at Haliczer Pettis & Schwamm to represent me in a complex medical malpractice case involving a surgical error in Jacksonville. His recognition in both Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury law was a primary factor in my decision, and his seven years of experience and UF Law background were evident in his handling of the legal strategy. He clearly understood the nuances of the case and secured a settlement that was, financially, a fair outcome. However, my experience was mixed. While the end result was satisfactory, the process often felt disjointed. Communication was inconsistent; there were periods of several weeks where I received no updates unless I initiated contact, and responses to my emails were sometimes brief and delayed. I sometimes felt like just another file, rather than a client navigating a deeply personal and stressful situation. My expectations for client communication and proactive guidance were only met adequately, not exceeded. For someone who needs a technically proficient attorney to manage the legal complexities of a malpractice claim, Mr. Miller is competent. Just be prepared to manage your own expectations regarding the frequency and depth of communication throughout what can be a lengthy process.
