Competent handling of my workplace injury claim

I hired Kelly Alfreds at Steinberg Law Firm after a machinery accident at work left me with a significant back injury. Her background in Workers' Compensation for claimants was evident; she was knowledgeable about the process and secured a fair settlement. I also noted her Rising Star recognition, which seemed well-earned in terms of legal understanding. However, my experience was mixed. While the outcome was satisfactory, communication was sometimes a challenge. There were periods of several days where I wouldn't receive updates on my case status unless I initiated contact. Wait times for returned calls or emails were occasionally longer than I expected. For someone with her expertise from the Charleston School of Law and over three years in the field, I had hoped for a more proactive communication style. She is clearly a capable attorney who knows personal injury and workers' comp law, but the client service aspect felt just adequate.
