Kellie MacDonald has significant experience representing immigrants and immigrant family members living abroad and in the United States in a wide range of matters before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, including family petitions and applications for adjustment of status, naturalization, asylum, and U visas.Kellie also has represented detained and non-detained immigrants in removal proceedings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review, with a focus on asylum, criminal-immigration issues, and custody determinations. She has conducted all aspects of case litigation, including trials, bond hearings, competency hearings, and evidentiary submissions.Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Kellie was an immigration staff attorney for Catholic Charities’ Refugee and Immigration Services in Massachusetts. She previously worked as part of the Immigrant Rights Program at the American Friends Service Committee in New Jersey, the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau in Massachusetts, the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights Coalition in Washington, D.C., and the Immigration Impact Unit at the Committee for Public Counsel Services in Massachusetts.Kellie graduated from Harvard Law School in 2015 with recognition for performing over 2,000 hours of pro bono legal work. She was also one of 25 new lawyers selected for participation in the Immigrant Justice Corps, a two-year immigration law fellowship dedicated to providing high-quality legal assistance for immigrants facing deportation in the New York City area.
