I hired Katy Baldwin at Goodwin to assist with a breach of contract dispute for my small business. Her recognition in commercial litigation was a key factor in my decision, and her legal analysis of our position was sharp and clearly grounded in her experience. She understood the nuances of New York contract law and provided a solid strategy. However, the experience was a mixed bag. While the legal work itself was sound, there were often significant delays in receiving responses to emails, sometimes stretching to several business days, which added to my stress during negotiations. My expectations for proactive updates weren't fully met. For straightforward commercial matters, her legal competence is evident, but managing client communication and setting clearer timelines for responsiveness would elevate the service. She is a capable attorney who got the job done, but the process felt more transactional than collaborative.
