Experienced and capable, but communication could improve

I hired Karen Tucker to handle a complex appeal related to a medical malpractice defense case. Her 28 years of experience and her recognition in appellate and healthcare litigation were immediately apparent. She demonstrated a deep understanding of the procedural nuances in Alabama's appellate courts and her analysis of the trial record was thorough. Ultimately, the outcome she secured was solid and professionally handled. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While her legal work was competent, there were periods where communication lagged significantly. Responses to emails could take a week or more, and it was sometimes difficult to get a clear timeline for next steps. For a client already stressed by litigation, this created unnecessary anxiety. She is undoubtedly a knowledgeable attorney at Helmsing Leach, but managing client expectations and maintaining consistent dialogue are areas where the service felt merely adequate.
