Joseph Phillips
I engaged Justin Flint and his team at Eccleston and Wolf to handle a professional liability matter stemming from a business contract dispute. My case involved nuanced arguments about the standard of care, which fell squarely within the extensive range of general and professional liability litigation Mr. Flint has handled since joining the firm in 2003. His deep background, from clerk to Supervising Attorney, was evident in the legal strategy; the pleadings were thorough and he demonstrated a competent grasp of the procedural complexities in the DC courts. Ultimately, we reached a settlement I could live with. However, my experience was mixed. While Mr. Flint's substantive knowledge is undeniable, communication was sometimes a challenge. There were periods where responses to emails took longer than expected, and updates often felt reactive rather than proactive. At times, I had to follow up multiple times to get clarity on next steps, which added unnecessary stress. For straightforward legal matters, his firm's competence is clear. Yet, for clients who prioritize consistent, anticipatory communication as part of the service, there is room for improvement. He is a capable attorney who secured a result, but the client experience felt more transactional than collaborative.
