I hired Justin Kaplan at Nelson Mullins to assist with a commercial lease dispute for my small business in Miami. My case involved a landlord attempting to enforce an ambiguous clause regarding maintenance responsibilities. Justin’s analysis of the lease language and the relevant Florida real estate law was thorough. It was clear he has a solid grounding in real estate litigation, which aligns with the recognition he's received in that area. He successfully negotiated a settlement that saved me from costly repairs, and I was satisfied with that outcome. However, the experience had some notable friction. Communication was sometimes slower than I would have preferred, with responses to emails taking a couple of days. While his legal advice was sound, I occasionally felt I had to proactively seek updates on my case's status. For a straightforward matter, his one year of post-law school experience was sufficient, but his relative newness showed in the client management aspect. He is undoubtedly a sharp attorney from a great firm, and he got the job done. My rating reflects a good result tempered by the service experience, which I found to be just adequate.
