Competent trademark guidance, but communication could improve

I engaged Julia Matheson of Potomac Law Group to handle a trademark opposition proceeding for my small tech startup. With her 35 years of experience and recognition in Intellectual Property and Trademark Law, I was confident in her technical expertise, which was indeed solid. Her analysis of the likelihood of confusion arguments was thorough, and her background from Columbia Law School was evident in her strategic approach. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. While the legal work was competent, I sometimes found the communication lagged behind my expectations. Responses to emails could take several days, and there were moments where I felt I had to follow up to get updates on procedural deadlines. For the substantial investment, I had hoped for a more proactive partnership. She is undoubtedly knowledgeable, especially given her Best Lawyers recognition in this niche field, but the client service aspect felt merely adequate for the prestige of the firm.
