Mr. Kochanek represents lenders in secured and unsecured loan originations, including multi-currency loan facilities, syndicated credit arrangements, and loans secured by stock and other assets located outside the United States, principally in Europe, Mexico, South America, and the Pacific Rim.He also has substantial experience in commercial mortgage financings, both construction and end loans, and other real estate transactions, and in commercial financing and real estate transactions in non-traditional settings, representing foundations and community development corporations in urban revitalization projects.Mr. Kochanek has also been involved in numerous troubled loan workouts, industry syndicated loans, and loans secured by foreign collateral, both inside and outside of bankruptcy.Mr. Kochanek has worked with banks to develop standard commercial loan documentation and lending procedures manuals, and has lectured for the Michigan Institute of Continuing Legal Education on secured transactions under UCC Article 9.
