I engaged Jon Holland at Butler Snow to assist with a trademark registration and potential opposition for my small tech startup in Huntsville. His three decades of experience, particularly his recognition in intellectual property law, were evident. He provided a solid legal strategy and his analysis of the potential conflicts was thorough. The work product was competent and achieved the primary goal of securing our mark. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. Communication was not as proactive as I had hoped; there were periods where I had to follow up for updates, and responses sometimes took a couple of days. For the complexity and cost, I expected a more collaborative partnership. Jon clearly knows patent and IP law inside and out, as his accolades suggest, but the client service aspect felt just adequate. He is a knowledgeable attorney who got the job done, but the process lacked the personal touch and responsiveness I anticipated from a firm of Butler Snow's stature.
