Competent real estate attorney, but communication could improve

I engaged Jon Blumenthal at McGrath North to assist with a commercial property purchase in Omaha. His 29 years of experience and recognition in real estate law were evident; he was thorough with the contract review and title work, and his knowledge of Nebraska property law is clearly deep. The transaction closed successfully. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While the legal work was solid, I often found communication to be slower than I’d hoped. Responses to emails sometimes took several days, and there were a couple of instances where I had to follow up to get clarity on next steps. For straightforward matters, his expertise from the University of Kansas and long tenure is reliable. Just be prepared to manage your own expectations regarding timelines and proactive updates. He’s a capable attorney who gets the job done, but the client service aspect felt merely adequate.
