Competent corporate counsel, but communication could improve

John Willis at Nelson Mullins provided solid legal guidance for our small business acquisition in Macon. His 19 years of experience and recognition in Corporate Law by Best Lawyers were evident in his thorough review of the contracts and his understanding of Georgia-specific regulations. He clearly knows his field. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. While the final work product was sound, there were periods where responses to emails took several days, which added to our stress during time-sensitive negotiations. His advice was always professional, but at times felt a bit more transactional than we had hoped for a process as significant as buying a company. For straightforward corporate matters, he is a capable attorney, but you may need to be proactive in managing communication expectations.
