Competent and experienced, but communication could improve

I hired John Thomas to handle a breach of contract dispute for my small business. His 35 years of experience in commercial litigation were evident; he clearly knows Texas law and the Austin courts. His recognition by Best Lawyers is well-deserved in that regard. The legal strategy he developed was sound, and we achieved an acceptable settlement. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. At times, there were significant delays in receiving responses to emails, and I occasionally felt out of the loop on minor developments. While I never doubted his legal acumen, the client service aspect felt just adequate. For straightforward, high-stakes commercial matters, his expertise at Thomas Williams McConnell is solid, but be prepared to manage your expectations on communication flow.
