Adequate representation in a complex business dispute

I engaged John Campbell of Taylor Porter to represent my company in a contractual dispute with a vendor that escalated into litigation. With his 30 years of experience and recognition in commercial litigation, I was confident in his legal acumen. His analysis of our professional liability exposure was thorough, and his strategy during the discovery phase was sound. He clearly knows the Baton Rouge legal landscape inside and out. However, the experience fell short of my expectations in a few key areas. Communication was sometimes inconsistent; there were periods where I had to follow up multiple times for updates, and responses to emails could take several days. While the legal work was competent, the process felt less collaborative than I had hoped. For straightforward legal matters, his deep expertise from three decades at Taylor Porter is evident. For clients who prioritize constant communication and a highly hands-on approach, you may need to set very clear expectations from the outset. He resolved our matter, but the journey had its frustrations.
