Competent handling of a commercial lease negotiation

John O'Neill at Holland & Knight assisted my small business with a complex commercial lease in Boston. His background in real estate law, noted by his Legal 500 recognition, was evident in his thorough review of the financial covenants and construction terms. He is clearly knowledgeable and the final agreement was solid. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. Communication was primarily through his assistant, and there were occasional delays in receiving drafts. For the premium rate, I expected more direct accessibility and proactive updates. He is a capable attorney who delivered on the core legal work, but the client service aspect was merely adequate for our needs.
