I engaged Jody Kahn Mason and her team at Jackson Lewis to defend my mid-sized tech company against a class action lawsuit under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA). The allegations were serious, and the potential exposure was daunting. From our first consultation, Jody's deep, 19-year expertise in employment and privacy law was evident. She didn't just understand the statutes; she had a clear, strategic vision for navigating the litigation landscape, which was no surprise given her leadership roles in the firm's Biometric Privacy and Privacy Litigation groups. Her team was thorough, and her advice was always pragmatic, balancing legal rigor with our business realities. While the overall outcome was excellent—we reached a very favorable settlement—there were a few instances where communication from junior team members lagged, requiring a follow-up from me to get updates. That said, having Jody's recognized acumen in both labor/employment and data security law on our side was invaluable. She translated complex legal concepts into actionable business advice, and I would confidently recommend her to any company facing similar privacy litigation challenges in Chicago.
