Competent in complex litigation, communication could improve

Jodi Westbrook Flowers at Motley Rice handled our water contamination class action. Her decade of experience in South Carolina mass torts was evident; she clearly understood the complex legal landscape and her recognition in The Legal 500 was reassuring. The initial strategy and filings were thorough. However, the process felt somewhat impersonal. Updates were infrequent and often required us to initiate contact, leaving us in the dark for long stretches. While the eventual settlement was fair and her expertise in product liability and toxic torts was not in question, managing client expectations and maintaining clearer communication would have significantly improved the experience. For straightforward legal competence, she is capable, but be prepared to be proactive in seeking information.
