Competent real estate attorney, but communication could improve

I hired Jennifer Goulah to assist with a complex commercial property purchase in Troy. Her 19 years of experience and recognition in real estate law by Best Lawyers were evident in her handling of the title review and contract contingencies. She clearly knows Michigan real estate law inside and out. The work product was solid, and she identified several potential issues with the zoning that saved us future headaches. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. Responses to emails were sometimes delayed by several business days, which added stress during time-sensitive negotiations. While I never doubted her legal expertise, the client service aspect felt more transactional than collaborative. For straightforward legal matters, her competence from Bodman PLC is undeniable. For clients who prioritize frequent, proactive updates, setting very clear communication expectations upfront would be advisable. She is a capable attorney who got the job done adequately.
