Competent on tax matters, but communication could be improved

It was reassuring to know he has been recognized by Best Lawyers in that specific field, which gave me confidence in his technical ability. The strategy he outlined for basis adjustment and installment sale reporting was sound. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. There were noticeable delays in receiving responses to follow-up emails, sometimes stretching to several business days, which added to my anxiety during the process. While the final outcome was technically correct and met the legal requirements, I felt the explanations were occasionally delivered in a manner that assumed a higher level of prior tax knowledge than I possessed. For straightforward, high-stakes tax compliance, Mr. Ekeberg is certainly capable. Yet, for clients who value frequent touchpoints and proactive, plain-language communication throughout a matter, expectations may need to be managed. The expertise is there, but the client service experience felt merely adequate.
