Competent handling of my mother's estate planning

Jean Hegler at Rivkin Radler was recommended to me for help with my elderly mother's will and a trust. Her recognition in elder law and trusts was evident; she was knowledgeable about the nuances of New York law. The documents she prepared were thorough. However, the process felt somewhat impersonal. Communication was primarily through her assistant, and responses to emails often took several business days. While the final product was professionally done, I expected more direct guidance from a Super Lawyers-listed attorney given the complexity of blending asset protection with Medicaid planning. For straightforward matters, she is certainly capable, but you may need to be proactive in managing the client-attorney communication flow.
