Competent and knowledgeable, but communication could be improved

I engaged Jay Musoff at Loeb & Loeb for guidance on a sensitive internal investigation matter that had potential regulatory and employment law implications. His background from the University of Virginia Law School and his recognition in white-collar defense were certainly factors in my selection. During our consultations, Jay demonstrated a solid grasp of the intersecting legal issues, and his analysis of the potential risks was thorough and pragmatic. He provided clear, actionable advice on structuring the internal review to maintain privilege. However, the experience was not without its frustrations. Response times to emails were sometimes slower than expected, often taking several business days, which created anxiety during time-sensitive phases. While his written work product was excellent, I occasionally felt I had to initiate follow-up to get status updates, making the process feel less collaborative than I had hoped. For straightforward legal analysis, he is undoubtedly capable, but the administrative and client service aspects of the engagement felt merely adequate. He is a sharp attorney who knows his field, but the overall client experience didn't fully match the caliber of the firm's reputation or his individual expertise.
