Adequate banking counsel for a business loan restructuring

I engaged Jason Benson at McGrath North to assist my small manufacturing company with restructuring a complex commercial loan. His deep knowledge of banking and finance law was evident from our first meeting, and his 26 years of experience in Omaha provided valuable local context. He successfully navigated the negotiations with our lender, and the final agreement was solid. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. While his expertise in commercial finance is clearly recognized, as his awards suggest, communication was not always proactive. There were periods where I had to follow up for updates, and at times the explanations of certain legal nuances felt rushed, as if I was being moved along a conveyor belt. For straightforward, high-stakes banking matters, he is certainly competent and gets the job done. I just expected a more collaborative partnership from a lawyer of his stature, especially given the firm's reputation.
