Competent on data breach case, but communication was inconsistent

Janis Kestenbaum at Perkins Coie handled a complex data security incident for our mid-sized business. Her deep expertise in privacy law, backed by her 30+ years of experience and recognition in the field, was evident in her strategic advice. The legal work product itself was thorough and aligned with her strong reputation. However, our experience was mixed. While she was brilliant when we had her attention, response times were often slower than expected, and junior associates sometimes handled follow-ups without clear transition. For the premium rate, we anticipated more direct and consistent communication from a partner of her caliber. She is undoubtedly knowledgeable, but the client service aspect felt just adequate.
