Competent M&A guidance, but communication could be more consistent

I engaged Janet Soave Coscino at Ropes & Gray to assist with the acquisition of a smaller competitor for my manufacturing business. Her technical knowledge in Mergers and Acquisitions Law is evident, and her background being recognized by Best Lawyers in that specific area gave me confidence. She was thorough in her due diligence review and the final purchase agreement was solid. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While the legal work product was competent, there were noticeable delays in email responses, sometimes taking several business days, which created anxiety during time-sensitive negotiations. For an attorney with her credentials from Loyola University Chicago and four years of focused practice, I expected a slightly more proactive communication style. The firm's processes also felt a bit rigid for a mid-market deal. She successfully guided the transaction to close, and I appreciate her work on the complex sections of the agreement. Ultimately, the job was done adequately, but the client experience didn't fully match the level of expertise suggested by her professional recognition.
