Competent on complex loan work, but communication could improve

We engaged Jamie Rutten Cage and her firm to handle the financing for the acquisition of a boutique hotel portfolio in the Denver area. Her background in high-dollar real estate loans and specific hospitality expertise was evident. She was thorough with the loan documents and the transaction closed successfully, exceeding our initial timeline. However, our experience was mixed. While Jamie is clearly knowledgeable, especially on the lender side of these complex deals, we sometimes experienced significant delays in receiving responses to our emails. There were a few instances where we had to follow up multiple times on non-critical points, which created some unnecessary anxiety during the process. For straightforward matters, her competence is solid, but if you require frequent updates or have a lot of questions, you may need to set very clear communication expectations from the outset.
