I retained Jim Hollis at Balch & Bingham to handle a significant breach of contract and business tort case for my small manufacturing company. His background in commercial litigation, including the recognition he's received in that practice area, was evident in his strategic approach to our case. He demonstrated a solid grasp of the legal complexities involved, particularly around the product liability adjacent arguments the other side attempted to introduce. His six years of experience and education from UGA provided a strong technical foundation. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. While his legal work product was sound, communication could be inconsistent. There were periods where we waited longer than expected for updates, requiring follow-up from our end. His analysis was thorough, but at times the practical business implications of certain legal strategies felt secondary. He successfully negotiated a settlement that protected our interests, which was the primary goal. For straightforward legal matters requiring expertise, he is capable, but clients should be prepared to proactively manage the communication flow to align expectations throughout the process.
