Competent corporate guidance, but communication could be more consistent

I engaged Jacqueline Wilcox at Perkins Coie to assist with the formation of a multi-member LLC for a new hospitality venture in Chicago. Her technical knowledge in business organizations is evident, and her recognition in that specific area by Best Lawyers is well-deserved. She provided a solid operating agreement and navigated the initial corporate structuring with clear expertise. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While the final work product was thorough, there were noticeable delays in email responses, sometimes taking several business days for a simple update. This created some anxiety during time-sensitive phases, like finalizing our capital contributions. For straightforward corporate matters, her 11 years of experience and background from the University of Wisconsin Law School certainly provide a reliable foundation. She is a capable attorney who knows corporate law and M&A principles. Yet, for clients who prioritize proactive communication and regular touchpoints, the service felt more transactional than collaborative. The value was there for the core legal work, but the client experience itself was merely adequate.
