Competent commercial litigation work, but communication could improve

I engaged Jacob Palcic of Barnes & Thornburg's South Bend office to handle a breach of contract dispute for my small manufacturing business. His background from Duke Law and his recognition in commercial litigation by Best Lawyers were certainly factors in my decision. In the courtroom and in drafting motions, Jacob's legal acumen was evident; he clearly understands the complexities of Indiana business law. However, my experience was a mixed bag. While the legal strategy was sound, there were often significant delays in receiving responses to my emails, sometimes stretching to several business days, which created anxiety during a stressful process. His explanations of procedural steps were sometimes overly technical, leaving me to seek simpler clarifications from his paralegal. The outcome of my case was ultimately satisfactory, but the journey felt more disjointed than I expected from a firm of this caliber. He is a capable attorney who gets the job done, but the client experience aspect felt just adequate.
