Competent commercial litigation attorney, but communication was inconsistent

I hired Jack Lovejoy at Corr Cronin to handle a breach of contract dispute for my small business. His background in commercial litigation, including his recognition by Best Lawyers, was a primary factor in my decision. Jack clearly knows his way around a courtroom and his analysis of the contractual weaknesses in the other party's position was sharp and ultimately correct, leading to a favorable settlement. His education and long tenure in the Seattle legal market since graduating from the University of Washington in 2005 are evident in his strategic approach. However, the experience was not without its frustrations. While the legal work was solid, communication was often slower than I expected. There were periods where I felt out of the loop on minor developments, and responses to emails could take several days, which added to my stress as a client. My expectations for a more proactive and responsive partnership, given the firm's reputation, were not fully met. He is undoubtedly a capable attorney who achieved the desired result, but the process itself felt more transactional than collaborative. For straightforward commercial matters where you can be patient, he is a competent choice.
