Mr. Davis’ law practice, focused on transactional commercial real estate, began in 2009 in Montgomery, Alabama. He was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama and currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama.
Prior to forming DLB Attorneys at Law, LLC in 2022, he was a shareholder with a prestigious boutique full service law firm based in Montgomery, Alabama and relocated to Birmingham, Alabama in 2015 to help establish his former firm’s first satellite office. Mr. Davis’ commercial real estate practice focuses on development, lending, and business transactions.
He has represented buyers and sellers of numerous types of commercial real estate, including shopping centers, triple net single tenant assets, multi-family, office, warehouse, and agricultural land to name a few specific areas. Mr. Davis also represents landlords and tenants in commercial lease negotiations along with a number of sale-lease back transactions.
His representation routinely requires preparation, review, and negotiation of purchase and sale contracts, loan documentation, sale transaction closing documents, and leases.Prior to law school, Mr. Davis went through AmSouth Bank’s management training program and became a credit underwriter responsible for analyzing and underwriting business financials and market data to help provide structured loans to some of the largest privately held corporations in Alabama. Mr.
Davis’ banking experience and finance background has allowed him to assist his banking clients with specific aspects of loan documentation, including financial and other specific loan covenants. Mr. Davis’ practice also includes title examination and issue of title insurance through DLB’s title agency licenses with several National Title Insurance Companies.
