Competent on franchise agreement, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged Mr. Mayberry to review a complex franchise agreement for my small business. His background in franchise law and his firm's reputation were clear assets; he identified several potential pitfalls in the IP licensing section that others had missed. However, the experience was mixed. While his final work product was solid, there were periods of several days where I received no updates, requiring me to follow up. For straightforward legal matters, his expertise from UNC and recognition in the field is evident, but the responsiveness didn't always match the premium billing. A capable attorney, but set clear communication expectations upfront.
