Competent on the transaction, but communication was inconsistent

I hired Ilana Strickon at Holland & Knight to assist with the purchase of a small commercial property in Miami. Her background in real estate law, including the recognition she's received in that field, was evident in her handling of the contract review and due diligence. She identified several potential title issues that could have become major problems, and her analysis was thorough. The work product itself was solid, and it's clear she received excellent training at NYU and within a prestigious firm. However, for a straightforward transaction, the process felt slower than anticipated. There were periods of several days where I received no updates unless I initiated contact, which created some anxiety. While her eventual responses were always professional and accurate, the onus felt too much on me to follow up. For someone with her credentials and the firm's reputation, I expected a more proactive communication style. She is undoubtedly knowledgeable, especially for an attorney with her level of experience, and the legal outcome was satisfactory. My experience was adequate, but I believe there is room for improvement in client management and setting clearer expectations on response times.
