Competent and experienced, but communication could improve

I engaged H. Nicholas Berberian for guidance during an SEC inquiry into my firm's compliance procedures. His deep background in securities litigation and regulatory enforcement, including his recognition in those fields, was immediately apparent. With nearly five decades of experience, including his dual J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, he provided a solid, strategic defense. The outcome of the matter was satisfactory, which is the most important thing. However, for a client navigating a stressful situation, the communication process felt somewhat lacking. There were periods where responses to emails took longer than expected, and updates often came from junior associates rather than directly from Mr. Berberian himself. While his counsel was technically sound and his firm's resources are impressive, the overall client experience felt more transactional than collaborative. He is undoubtedly a knowledgeable attorney, but managing client expectations and accessibility could be enhanced.
