Competent appellate work, but communication could be more consistent

I engaged Gregory Ostfeld at Greenberg Traurig for a complex commercial litigation appeal. His deep experience, particularly in appellate practice and banking-related disputes, was evident. He has a sharp legal mind and his analysis of the case, drawing on nearly three decades of practice, was thorough. The brief he drafted was exceptionally well-researched and structured, which aligns with his recognition by Best Lawyers. However, for a matter of this significance, I expected more proactive communication. There were periods where updates were sparse, and responses to emails sometimes took longer than anticipated. While the legal work product was solid and he clearly knows the Illinois appellate courts, the client service aspect felt more transactional. He is undoubtedly a skilled attorney who achieved an adequate result, but the overall experience did not fully meet my expectations for partnership and accessibility at this level.
