Linda Robinson
I engaged Gregg Truxton and his firm to assist with the formation of a multi-member LLC for a small commercial real estate venture my partners and I were starting in Fort Myers. Given his 45 years of experience and his recognition in real estate and business organization law, I felt confident in his technical ability. This confidence was well-placed; the operating agreement he drafted was thorough and clearly reflected his deep understanding of Florida partnership law. He efficiently navigated the filing requirements and his advice on liability structure was sound. However, the experience was somewhat mixed. While Mr. Truxton himself was sharp when we met, there were significant delays in receiving drafts and responses to follow-up emails, which often required multiple prompts. Communication primarily flowed through his paralegal, and getting specific, timely clarifications directly from him was challenging. For straightforward legal work, his expertise from the University of Florida and decades of practice is evident and he gets the job done competently. Yet, for clients who prioritize consistent, direct communication and proactive updates, the process can feel a bit disjointed. You are paying for top-tier legal knowledge, but the client service experience feels more average.
