Competent on insurance claim, but communication could improve

I hired Glenn Klinger at Freeman Mathis & Gary to handle a complex commercial property insurance claim denial after a significant water damage incident at my small business. His background in Insurance Law, including the recognition he's received in that field, was evident in his technical understanding of the policy language and the carrier's obligations. He was able to successfully negotiate a settlement that covered most of our repair costs, which we appreciated. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. While his legal analysis was sound, there were periods where communication lapsed, making it difficult to get status updates without multiple follow-ups on my part. As a client, I sometimes felt I was being managed alongside a large caseload rather than as a priority. For a straightforward insurance dispute, his one year of focused experience at the firm and his education from Northern Illinois University provided a solid foundation. The outcome was ultimately satisfactory, but the process lacked the proactive guidance and regular touchpoints I expected from a Chicago firm of this caliber. He is clearly knowledgeable in this niche, but the client service aspect felt just adequate.
