I engaged Gina Shkoukani at Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg to assist with updating my mother's estate plan, including a will and a revocable trust. Given her recognition in Trusts and Estates, I felt confident in her technical knowledge, and she demonstrated a solid grasp of the necessary documents. The work product was thorough and professionally prepared. However, my experience was somewhat mixed. While Gina was clearly competent, communication sometimes felt less proactive than I had hoped; I occasionally had to follow up for updates, and there were periods of waiting between drafts. For a relatively straightforward estate planning matter, the process felt a bit more protracted than expected. She is a knowledgeable attorney, especially for someone with a couple of years of experience post-J.D., and the firm's reputation in Chicago is evident. The outcome was satisfactory, but the client service aspect could be more streamlined to match the quality of the legal work itself.
