Competent on the legal work, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged George Farrell at Greenberg Traurig for a complex securities dispute involving a significant investment loss. His credentials, including his recognition in securities litigation by Best Lawyers, were a primary reason for my choice. The legal work itself was solid; his analysis of the regulatory filings and the drafting of our position were thorough and demonstrated a clear grasp of the technical details you'd expect from a Temple Law graduate. However, the experience was mixed on the client service front. There were periods of several days where I received no updates, despite emails, and I often felt I had to follow up to get a status report. When we did connect, his advice was sound, but the onus was on me to initiate. For the high-stakes nature of my case, I expected more proactive communication from a firm of this caliber. He is undoubtedly a knowledgeable attorney in his field, especially for someone with his level of experience, and he achieved an acceptable resolution. Yet, the process felt more transactional than collaborative, which was a slight disappointment given the firm's reputation.
