Competent on corporate matters, but communication could improve

I engaged Geiza Vargas-Vargas at Greenberg Traurig for guidance on a mid-sized business acquisition in Florida. Her background in Mergers and Acquisitions Law, and the recognition she's received in Corporate and Securities law, were the primary reasons for our selection. On the substantive legal work, particularly the due diligence review and structuring the asset purchase agreement, her expertise was evident. She identified several key liabilities that needed addressing, which was invaluable. However, the experience was somewhat mixed on the service side. While Geiza was clearly knowledgeable, response times to emails were occasionally slower than expected, sometimes taking several business days. There were also moments where explanations of complex capital market implications felt rushed, requiring me to follow up for clarification. For a straightforward corporate transaction, she delivered competent legal analysis. I would just advise future clients to set very clear expectations regarding communication timelines from the outset. Her legal acumen from Boston College Law School and her firm's resources are not in question, but the overall client service experience felt more transactional than collaborative.
