Experienced and competent, but communication could improve

I hired Gary M. Prince to represent me after a significant car accident in Davidson County. His long tenure, dating back to 1982, and his focus on representing seriously injured individuals were the primary reasons for my choice. In the courtroom and during settlement negotiations, his experience was evident. He has a firm grasp of Tennessee tort law and presented my case effectively, ultimately securing a fair settlement. However, the process felt somewhat impersonal. While I never doubted his legal acumen, there were periods of several days where I received no updates on my case, requiring me to initiate contact. His dual practice representing both injured plaintiffs and defending government entities like police departments is unique, and at times I wondered if that divided focus played a role in the responsiveness. For straightforward, serious injury cases, his competence is not in question. Just be prepared to manage your own expectations regarding communication timelines and to be proactive in seeking information. He will handle the legal complexities, but you may need to handle the follow-up.
