Competent on environmental compliance, but communication was inconsistent

I engaged Gabriel Nieto and his firm to assist my small business with a complex environmental compliance issue related to a property acquisition in Miami-Dade County. His deep expertise in environmental law, built over nearly three decades, was immediately apparent. He clearly understood the regulatory landscape and his recognition in that field is well-deserved. The legal strategy he developed was sound and ultimately helped us navigate the permitting process. However, the experience was mixed. While the substantive work was good, there were often significant delays in receiving responses to emails or calls, which added to our stress during time-sensitive negotiations. At times, I felt I had to follow up multiple times to get updates that should have been proactively communicated. For straightforward, high-stakes environmental matters, his knowledge is a definite asset, but be prepared to manage the communication flow actively. The outcome was satisfactory, but the process could have been smoother.
