Competent and experienced, but communication could improve
I engaged Frank Meckes and his firm, WACH UND MECKES, to handle a complex contractual dispute with a former business partner that had both local and international elements. Given his 15 years of experience and his recognition as Lawyer of the Year in Arbitration and Mediation, I had high expectations for his strategic insight. In that regard, he delivered; his analysis of the case was thorough, and his knowledge of both litigation and international arbitration procedures was evident. He successfully guided us toward a mediated settlement, which was our goal. However, the experience was not without its frustrations. Communication was sometimes slower than I would have liked, with responses to emails taking several days during non-critical periods. While his legal advice was sound, the process felt somewhat impersonal at times, and I occasionally had to follow up to get updates on procedural steps. For straightforward legal matters requiring deep expertise, he is certainly capable, but clients should be prepared to manage their expectations regarding responsiveness and the level of day-to-day engagement.
