Competent on corporate matters, but communication could improve

I engaged Frank Martin Laprade of Jeantet to assist with a private securities offering for my small tech company in Columbus. His recognized expertise in securities and corporate law was evident; he was thorough with the documentation and filings, and his seven years of experience provided a solid foundation. The work product was technically sound. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. There were periods where communication lags made it difficult to get status updates, and at times, explanations of complex capital markets concepts were more cursory than I would have preferred for a client new to the process. While he capably handled the legal mechanics, I was hoping for a bit more proactive guidance and a clearer sense of timeline throughout. He is clearly knowledgeable, but the client service aspect felt just adequate.
