His practice has also focused on commercial litigation, real estate disputes, and personal injury. Chip’s experience with commercial disputes involves antitrust, unfair competition, breach of contract, civil/business conspiracy, tortious interference with business expectancy, fraud, franchising, intellectual property, nuisance, qui tam/False Claims Act, and covenants not to compete. Chip’s experience with real estate matters includes resolving disputes involving boundary lines, covenants of quiet possession, deed interpretation, and ownership of mineral interests. Chip’s cases and clients have involved a number of industries, including mining, gas, coated fabrics, composite sheet product, brick making, aviation, health care, broadcast media, metal castings, higher education, accounting, and many more. Chip is a former president of the Roanoke Bar Association and has served as chair of the Roanoke Law Foundation and Virginia State Bar’s Antitrust Franchising and Trade Regulation Section.
