Competent handling of a contract dispute, but communication could improve

I hired Ethan Knott at Fellows LaBriola to assist with a breach of contract issue involving a former business partner. My case involved a fairly standard supply agreement, and I was drawn to his profile noting recognition in commercial litigation. Mr. Knott demonstrated a solid grasp of the legal principles involved. His analysis of the contract terms was thorough, and he leveraged his experience from Florida State and the University of Miami School of Law to build a reasonable strategy. Ultimately, we reached a settlement that was acceptable, which was the primary goal. However, the experience felt somewhat transactional. There were periods where I had to follow up multiple times for updates, and responses sometimes took longer than I would have preferred. While he was certainly competent and the outcome was fine, I didn't feel the proactive communication or personal investment I might have expected. For a straightforward commercial matter, he gets the job done adequately, but the client experience itself was just okay.
