Competent on ERISA matters, but communication could improve

I engaged Eric Gregory at Dickinson Wright to assist my company with a complex ERISA compliance review following a merger. His knowledge of employee benefits law is clearly deep, and his background, including his recent recognition in the field, gave us confidence. The legal work product itself was thorough and accurate. However, our experience was mixed on the service side. Response times to emails were sometimes longer than expected, and explanations, while technically correct, could occasionally feel rushed or assume a level of pre-existing knowledge we didn't have. For straightforward, high-stakes legal analysis, Mr. Gregory is a capable attorney. For clients who prioritize frequent, proactive updates and more hand-holding through the process, expectations may need to be set clearly from the outset. We achieved our primary legal goal, but the journey had some frustrations.
